On Thursday 28 October we celebrate World Teachers' Day. This is a great opportunity to thank our Queensland teachers for the important role they play across our state — inside our classrooms and out in the community.

The theme of World Teachers' Day 2021 is 'Teachers at the heart of education recovery'.

We pay special tribute to and recognise the tireless efforts of our teachers to maintain a strong focus on teaching and learning and ensure minimal disruption to students' learning over the course of the pandemic.

As many parents know instinctively, the impact individual teachers have on a child's education can be significant. Teachers are central to learning and, while there are other important factors, including the quality of the curriculum, school environment and student ability and commitment, it is teachers that breathe life into what is being taught and who engage and motivate students.

On behalf of the community, I would like to say a special thank you to the amazing teachers who support our students here at Runcorn State School.

Kind regards,

Michelle D'Netto

Principal
